Helen Gilbert BSc Podiatry MChS HCPC
Stephen Gilbert BSc Podiatry MChS HCPC
We are a husband and wife team who have lived and worked around Aldridge for 20 years. We both originally trained as teachers - Steve taught biology at Queen Mary's High School and Helen taught at local primary schools and at Sutton College. More recently we took our BSc degrees in Podiatry (the new name for Chiropody) together at university, training in many NHS Hospitals and clinics.
We are both qualified with BSc degrees in Podiatry from Aston University. We are registered with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC). This used to be called 'State Registered' (SRCh). We are also qualified to administer local anaesthetics and to prescribe certain medications to our patients.
You can find us on the HCPC website here: http://www.hpc-uk.org/check/
We pride ourselves on providing a personal, friendly service and aim to ensure you are completely happy with your treatment.
Steve set up and runs the UK Podiatry Facebook page, which now has over 5000 members, so that we can share advice and best practice with other professionals. This is very useful to keep us up to date with current research and to find new items and treatments to help our patients.
Environmental Awareness
We try hard to be as environmentally friendly as possible, we try to walk or cycle for home visits if possible, utilise car sharing, we do not use single use instruments which go straight into land fill after use, and we try to minimise our use of non renewable resources wherever possible.
We met as students at Birmingham University and as we are Quakers we try to act with integrity, fairness and kindness to everyone as well as to the environment.
Charity Fundraising
Over the past two years we have raised over £2,500 for charitable causes including Comic Relief, St. Giles Hospice and other charities. We try to do something funny to raise money for Comic Relief every Red Nose Day. Thanks very much to all who contributed and helped us.
